Here we’ll share news, events, and ways we’re honoring Luca’s memory. Whether it’s a gathering, a fundraiser, or a new initiative in his name, this page will keep friends and family informed and connected.
October 6, 2025:
From a tender age, Luca loved books. Even as an infant, he would smile when we read to him, and it quickly became part of our daily ritual. To honor him, we have installed a Little Free Library on our property. It is painted in his favorite shade of "boo", and it's right next to a short cut to the Ridgewood Duck Pond that he also loved. Luca would be excited to share the magic of books with everyone.
Luca is officially enrolled in the Boston Children's Hospital Robert's Program. This means his medical history and genetic testing will be thoroughly reviewed through the lens of SUDC in hopes of identifying causes and preventative measures.
We are still waiting for his memorial tree to be planted at Graydon Park, and hope it will be completed by the end of this month.

July 14, 2025:
Luca's little brother came a few weeks early! Leo Wong Capece arrived on July 14, 2025 at 6lb 7oz. Just like Luca, he was born with a full head of hair and a healthy appetite.

June 23, 2025:
The NYU Langone SUDCRRC presented a research update and the webinar can be viewed here. A few highlights can be found below. Luca's passing occurred while he was sleeping and he was found in a prone position; this overlaps with most of the other cases that are part of the research study. We are actively trying to get Luca enrolled in the research program.
